Step 3 - Creating an Interactive Floor Plan

In order to use the booth selection within the Exhibitor Application, it is necessary to have a floor plan created within the Event Dashboard where booths can be mapped. This floor plan will appear on the Booths step of the Exhibitor Application. Exhibitors will be able to select their desired booth by clicking it.

What is the purpose of an Interactive Floor Plan?

The Floor Plan is used in many features such as Meeting Booking and Session Locations. In booth selection For the purposes of this article, we will be discussing how the Floor Plan is used in the context of booth selection.

How to Create an Interactive Floor Plan

  1. From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Maps and select Create New

  1. Under the Map Name field, enter the name of the map
  2. Please note that this map name is external facing and will appear on front end portals like the Event Website and Member Portal.

  1. Under Visibility, toggle on the Is Visible, Floorplan and Show in Exhibitor Portal checkbox
  2. Select Create

How to Populate Booths in an Interactive Floor Plan

Booths can be created and assigned within the Floor Plan. To assign booths, you must first create booth objects within the floor plan.

  1. From the Map Editor, select the shape you would like to associate with from the list

  1. Under Objects, select Booth
  2. You can either select Create
    1. You can also select Edit Booth to configure an existing booth.

  1. Under the Code field, enter a name for the booth
  2. Under the Area field, enter the Booth Area required to reserve this booth
  3. Under the Product Affiliation field, enter any products that will be assigned to the exhibitor if this booth is selected
    1. Please note, this field is only relevant if Show Booth Selection Before Product Purchase is enabled.
  4. Under the Product Requirement field, enter any products the exhibitor must checkout with upon selecting the booth
    1. Exhibitors will be unable to complete checkout unless they purchase both the required product and the booth simultaneously.
  5. Select Save Changes

  1. Save your floorplan by navigating to File and selecting Save or Save As
    1. Please note the selecting Save As will create a copy of the floorplan.
