Understanding Virtual Portal Settings in the Dashboard

The Event Dashboard is used to control the various settings within the Virtual Portal. To access these settings, navigate to Experiences > Virtual > Settings from the Event Dashboard. While there are many settings available to use, this article will walk through the essential settings that an event admin should know.

Contents

Hiding Sections in the Virtual Portal

Each section of the Virtual Portal can be hidden if they are not relevant for your event. If disabled, the sections will no longer display on the navigation menu.

  1. From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Experiences > Virtual > Settings
  2. Scroll down to Sections
  3. Toggle on or off the different section settings to have them appear or disappear from the Virtual Portal
  4. Select Save Changes

Hiding Chats in the Virtual Portal

Several chats in the Virtual Portal can be restricted if not necessary for your event. Chats that have been disabled will not.

  1. From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Experiences > Virtual > Settings
  2. Scroll down to Chat
  3. Toggle on the Disabled Missed Chat Notification Email checkbox to disable missed chat emails sent to attendees
  4. Toggle off the chat-related checkboxes for Sessions, Exhibit Hall, and Lobby to disable chat functionality in each respective section
  5. Toggle off the Enable Unique Chats for Sessions and Exhibitors to unify both chats with the Lobby chat.
  6. Toggle off the Presence List checkboxes for Sessions and Exhibit Hall to disable the People tab in each respective section.
  7. Select Save Changes

Conclusion

Configuring the Virtual Portal settings allows you to tailor the attendee experience based on your event’s specific needs. By selectively hiding sections and chat features, you can streamline navigation and minimize distractions within the Virtual Portal. While we have not covered every setting, we recommend reviewing each option carefully in the Virtual settings to see what can be used for your virtual event.
