How Can I Allow Only One Registration for my Events?
Limiting registrations to one per event is a common practice, but the exact requirements behind this can vary. Some event planners only wish to limit a single registration per ticket or category, while others want to allow only one registration per email.
The Event Dashboard enforces this behaviour on three levels: tickets, categories, and registrations, allowing event planners to customize the registration flow in a way that best suits them.
Enforcing One Registration Throughout
The most straightforward option is the Enforce Unique Registrant Emails setting. This makes it so that attendees are only able to register once for the event throughout all categories. This setting will override any Enforce Unique Email configurations for tickets and categories.
- From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Registration > Settings
- Toggle on the Enforce Unique Registrant Emails checkbox
Select Save Changes

Enforcing One Registration for Tickets
For event planners who wish to enforce one registration for tickets but still allow additional registrations, we recommend using the Enforce Unique Purchase setting. This setting is ideal if you are using multiple tickets for your registration flow and want to restrict or permit registrations on a per-category basis.
- From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Registration > Tickets
- Select the ticket you wish to adjust from the list
- Scroll down to Other Details
- Toggle on the Enforce Unique Purchase checkbox
Select Save Changes

Enforcing One Registration for Categories
For event planners who wish to restrict category registrations, we recommend using the Enforce Unique Email setting. This is ideal if you are using multiple categories for your registration flow and want to restrict or permit registrations on a per-category basis.
- From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Registration> Categories
- Scroll down to Basic Details
- Select Enforce Unique Emails
