Redirecting Domains to Use Your Own URL

If you're looking to use a custom domain or subdomain that redirects to your PheedLoop-hosted Event Website, here's what you need to know:

PheedLoop does not support indexing through Google Search Console for our PheedLoop hosted Event Websites. This is an intentional decision to ensure that your event pages do not interfere with or dilute your organization's overall search engine optimization (SEO) and search results.

How to Redirect a Domain

To set up a redirect from your own domain (or subdomain) to your PheedLoop Event Website:

  1. Search for instructions from your domain provider.

A quick Google search like "domain redirecting [Your Domain Provider Name]" will usually bring up step-by-step guides specific to your provider.

  2. Point the domain or subdomain to your PheedLoop URL.

This means setting up a basic HTTP redirect, so when someone visits your custom domain, they’re instantly redirected to the PheedLoop-hosted website.

  3. SSL certificates are optional.

Because the redirect happens instantly, most setups do not require an SSL certificate—even for vanity URLs. That being said, some organizations still choose to attach a certificate for consistency or branding purposes.

By setting this up, your audience can enjoy a clean, branded link (e.g., events.yourdomain.com ) while still benefiting from the features and infrastructure of a PheedLoop-hosted site.
