Uploading Pre-Recorded Videos to Sessions On Demand Content, and Simulive
One of PheedLoop’s free features is the option to upload and play pre-recorded videos during your event. In addition, you can enable or disable player controls to make them play live or give the attendee the option to playback at their own pace.
Uploading Pre-Recorded Videos
- From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Sessions > Sessions
- Select the session you would like to adjust from the list
- Scroll down to Virtual Settings
- Under Pre-Recorded Video, select Choose File
- Files need to be in MP4 format with a maximum size of 2GB.
- Upload the video of your choice
- Select Save Changes
Toggling on Enable Stream
Before your video can appear in the session window, you will need to toggle on Enable Stream.
- From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Sessions > Sessions
- Select the session you would like to adjust from the list
- Scroll down to Virtual Settings
- Toggle on the Enable Stream checkbox
- Select Save Changes
Once the Enable Stream checkbox is toggled on, any video uploaded into Pre-Recorded Video will play in the session’s virtual portal. Please note the video will appear regardless of the session time so only toggle on the Enable Stream checkbox if the session is ready to go live.
This does not apply for On-Demand Events. For anyone running an On-Demand Event, the Enable Stream checkbox can be left toggled on.
Understanding Simulive Mode
Any videos uploaded to sessions in PheedLoop comes with Simulive capabilities. Short for Simulated Live, Simulive is automatically included in PheedLoop’s video player. If an attendee joins in late then the video will play from the session’s current timestamp.
Please note that if the video is shorter than the session time then the remaining time will show a blank screen. Because of this, we recommend uploading a video that matches the session’s duration length.
Toggling on the Enable Player Controls checkbox will disable Simulive. The Enable Player Controls checkbox allows the attendee to fast forward or go to different timestamps in the video.
How to Enable Autopilot Stream Mode
It is possible to have a session’s stream enabled automatically once the session’s start time is reached. This is a great feature to use if you are using our pre-recorded video. We do not recommend using this with live sessions because sessions can start early or late and Auto Pilot Stream Mode cannot account for this.
- From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Sessions > Sessions
- Select the session you would like to adjust from the list
- Scroll down to Virtual Settings
- Toggle on the Enable Autopilot Stream Mode checkbox
- Select Save Changes
To set up the time, scroll down to Basic Details and fill out the Start Time and End Time for the session.
