Enabling and Using the Protected Ticket Link Feature and Protected Categories

Sometimes event organizers want to create tickets for certain registrants without having those tickets be visible or accessible in the registration page. PheedLoop’s Protected Ticket feature allows event organizers to do exactly that.

Tickets in the Event Dashboard can be assigned with a protected status. Once a ticket has been set as protected, it can only be accessed through a unique access link.

Assigning a Protected Ticket

Event organizers can assign a Protected Ticket when they create a ticket or when they edit it from the ticket’s editor form.

  1. From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Registration > Tickets
  2. Select the Ticket you wish to edit from the list
  3. Scroll down to Privacy
  4. Toggle on the Protected Ticket checkbox
  5. Select Save Changes

Sharing the Access Link for a Protected Ticket

Once your Protected Ticket status has been set, you can access the access link through the same steps above.

  1. From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Registration > Tickets
  2. Select the Ticket you wish to edit from the list
  3. Scroll down to Privacy
  4. Select Access Link

The access link will now appear in a new pop-up overlay. Please note that there are multiple links for each category that the ticket is connected to under Basic Details > Registration Category.

Select the clipboard icon to copy the access link and share them with the intended registrants.

Putting Multiple Tickets in One Access Link

Sometimes event organizers want to give registrants the ability to purchase different protected tickets without needing to use multiple access links. The steps to do this may appear complicated but are simple once we understand how an access link functions.

In any given access link, there are three variables to consider: the event code, the ticket code, and the category code. Each access link is unique but will generally follow this pattern:

https://site.pheedloop.com/event/[EVENT CODE HERE]/register/?tickets=[TICKET CODE HERE]&category=[CATEGORY CODE HERE]

The first step will be to get the Access Link through the steps above. Once that’s done, you will want to get the ticket code from the other protected tickets. This can be done through two methods.

Method A: Downloading the Ticket CSV File

  1. From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Registration > Tickets
  2. Select the Download CSV button, this is shown by the arrow icon pointing down
  3. Once the CSV file has been downloaded open it
  4. Copy the code from the Code column

Method B: Copying the Ticket access link

  1. From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Registration > Tickets
  2. Copy the ticket code at the very end of the access link
    1. This is shown by the letters TIC followed by the unique code associated with the protected ticket.
    2. Quick tip: The best way to understand this is by selecting two different tickets and noting the different characters between the two

Once the ticket code is copied, the next step is to separate the ticket codes in the access link with a dash (‘-’). The access link should look something like this:

https://site.pheedloop.com/event/[EVENT CODE HERE]/register/?tickets=[TICKET CODE HERE]-[TICKET CODE HERE]&category=[CATEGORY CODE HERE]

The more ticket codes you attach to the access link, the more tickets will be available to purchase at checkout.

Creating Hidden Categories

Another way event organizers can keep their protected tickets hidden is by hiding the category the ticket is associated with. Registrants can still access the ticket if they have the associated access link.

  1. From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Registration > Categories
  2. Select the category you wish to edit from the list
  3. Under Basic Settings, toggle on the Hidden Checkbox
  4. Select Save Changes

The category will now be hidden but can still be accessed through the access link of any protected tickets associated with the category.
