Editing the Registration Receipt & Invoice Emails

PheedLoop’s Registration system has a number of email templates that are sent to registrants for various purposes. This article will focus on the Registration Receipt and Invoice emails; namely, their purpose and how to customize it.

What is the Purpose of the Registration Receipt & Invoice Emails?

Depending on the payment status of the order, registrants can receive either the Registration Receipt email or Registration Invoice email.

Registration Receipt

The Registration Receipt email is sent to a Registrant after they have successfully completed their registration and processed payment. The Registration Receipt email includes a PDF attachment of the registrant’s receipt.

Registration Invoice

The Registration Receipt email is sent to a Registrant after they have successfully completed their registration, but have not yet processed payment. For example, they may have selected the “Other” payment method during checkout. The Registration Invoice email includes a PDF attachment of the registrant’s invoice.

How Can the Registration Receipt and Invoice Emails be Customized?

You can edit the subject and body of the Registration Receipt email to communicate information relevant to your event.

  1. From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Communications > Email Templates

  1. Select Registration Receipt or Registration Invoice from the list

  1. Under the Subject field, edit the subject line as required

  1. Under the Body Text field, edit the body of the email as required

  1. Toggle on the Remove Default Welcome Message checkbox to remove the default greeting included with the email
    1. It is recommended to enable this setting as you will likely have a greeting included already in the Body Text field.

  1. Toggle on the Enable Call-To-Action Button if you wish to include a button in the email

  1. Toggle off the Enable Attachment checkbox if you wish to exclude any pdf attachments in the Registration Confirmation Email
    1. It is recommended to enable this setting or the receipt/invoice will not be included in the email.

  1. Select Save Changes

How Can the Registration Receipt and Invoice Emails be Disabled?

Registrants who process payment via credit card in the Registration flow will automatically receive the Registration Receipt email. Registrants who select the “Other” payment method will automatically receive the Registration Invoice email.

If you would like to disable the Registration Receipt or the Registration Invoice email from being automatically sent under these conditions, proceed with the following:

  1. From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Registration > Settings and scroll down to Invoices and Receipts

  1. Toggle off the Automatically Send Invoices checkbox

  1. Toggle off the Automatically Send Receipts checkbox

  1. Select Save Changes

Note: You are able to manually send these documents post-registration as well regardless of the status of this setting.
