Cancelling Registrations in the Event Dashboard

Managing event registrations efficiently is essential for both organizers and attendees. Sometimes, plans change, and attendees may need to cancel their registration. Fortunately, the Event Dashboard provides a simple and hassle-free way to handle cancelations. This guide will walk you through the steps to cancel a registration quickly and easily, ensuring a smooth experience for everyone involved.

Please note, tickets cannot be canceled after the event has ended.

How to cancel registration order

  1. From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Registration > Orders

  1. Select the checkbox of the registration to be canceled

  1. Above the Registrations table, select Actions > Change Status > Canceled

What happens when an order is canceled?

When an order is canceled, all tickets attached to the order are automatically canceled. If an attendee has no other tickets and is not an exhibitor, sponsor, or speaker, they will be removed from the event.

Canceled tickets will not be usable to access any sessions, Virtual Portal, or be valid for event check-in.

If the cancelled order has a verified payment associated with it, the Amount Owing field in the Finance Summary will be replaced by Amount Overcharge with the amount displayed in red. Once a refund has been conducted, the Amount Overcharge field will return to normal.

Filtering canceled orders on the Event Dashboard

You can filter registration orders on the Event Dashboard to display only canceled orders.

  1. From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Registration > Orders and select the filter icon

  1. Under the Status field, select Canceled

All canceled orders will now be visible on the Event Dashboard. To revert this view, select All under the Status field or click the X icon on the Canceled tag.

If you would like to generate a report for canceled registrations, we recommend creating a Registration Report Type and including Canceled as one of the fields in your report. This field will display "Yes" for all canceled registrations, while valid orders will appear blank in this column.
