Getting Started with General Details and Design Settings

This article walks through the core General settings in your Event Dashboard, including event details, calendar behavior, financial options, and visual branding. These settings control how your event appears across the Event Website, emails, and attendee-facing portals.

Accessing General Event Settings

All settings can be found in the Event Dashboard by navigating to General > Details and General > Design, respectively:

Both of these areas include foundational information that is used throughout your event experience.

General > Details

While there are many settings in the Details page, below are some of the important settings to be made aware of:

Basic Information

Setting Description Where It Appears
Event Host Name The information entered here updates the sender name for all email communications sent from PheedLoop. This name may also appear on the Event Website. Email sender name, Event Website
Custom URL Extension Any value entered in this field replaces the default Event Code in the Event Website URL, allowing for a cleaner or more branded link. Event Website URL
Virtual Event This checkbox enables virtual event functionality, including access to virtual sessions and the Virtual Portal. This setting is only relevant if you are using the PheedLoop Event App or Virtual Portal. Event App, Virtual Portal
Description This field appears on the Event Website and helps attendees understand the purpose and scope of the event. Event Website

Dates and Location

Setting Description Where It Appears
Start Date and Time This setting defines when your event officially begins and is used across the platform for scheduling and calendar-related features. Schedules, calendars, attendee-facing displays
End Date and Time This setting defines when your event officially ends and is used across the platform for scheduling and calendar-related features. Schedules, calendars, attendee-facing displays
Location This field identifies where the event is taking place and is used to populate location-related sections on the Event Website. Home Location section, Home Carousel section (on the Event Website)

Calendar Settings

The calendar settings customize how event details are populated when the attendee adds the event to their calendar. If you would like to learn more, please refer to our Customizing “Add to Calendar” Details for Your Event article.

Social and Contact Information

The Social and Contact fields populate in various areas of the platform, including the footer of the Event Website and the footer of certain emails. This information helps attendees easily access your organization’s contact details and social media profiles.

Advanced Options and Finance

The Advanced Options section allows organizers to optionally enter tracking IDs, including Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager IDs. These IDs can be used to track conversions and engagement on the Event Website.

The Currency setting determines which currency is used during event registration and payment processing.

The Tax Percent field can be used to apply a global tax percentage across your event, if applicable.

General > Designs

To configure your event’s visual branding, navigate to General > Design. This section controls how your event appears across websites, emails, and portals.

Primary Colour This setting defines the main brand color used throughout the Event Website. Event Website
Secondary Colour This setting complements the primary color and is used alongside it across the Event Website. Event Website
Event Logo This image is used to represent your event in email communications and front-facing attendee portals. Emails, attendee-facing portals
White Event Logo This version of the logo is used when the primary color is applied as a background, such as in the Event Website header. Event Website header
Event Thumbnail This image is displayed wherever a thumbnail is required but has not been explicitly set, including profile photos and smaller screen views. The recommended size is 500 by 500 pixels in PNG format. Profile images, small screen views
Event Favicon This image replaces the default PheedLoop logo shown in the browser tab. This feature requires a Custom Website Domain and takes effect once the Custom Email Domain is configured. Browser tab
Email Header Image This image appears at the top of all event emails and replaces the event logo within the email header. Email headers

Using Helper Text

Throughout the Event Dashboard, many fields include helper text, which is indicated by a question mark icon. Selecting this icon provides additional context and guidance for the setting, including recommended image dimensions where applicable.
