Setting up Category Restrictions Based on Membership Types

Please note, use of this feature requires Membership Types to be set up in the Membership Dashboard

A special category restriction is available based on the Membership type included in an user's account. This feature is unique from the protected settings outlined in our Enabling and Using the Protected Ticket Link Feature and Protected Categories article.

If enabled, this setting will restrict access to the category to everyone but users with the appropriate membership type.  

Adding a Membership Type to a Category

  1. From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Registration > Categories
  2. Select the Category you wish to edit from the list
  3. Scroll down to Basic Settings
  4. Under Connected Membership Types, select the membership type you wish to use
  5. Select Save Changes

Testing the Connected Membership Types Restriction

Once added, the change should appear on the registration page in the Event Website. The category will now have a lock icon, users with the Membership Type will be able to access the Registration Category while those without will see an error message.
