Creating your Registration Ticket Types

Tickets allow your registrants to attend your event upon purchase. This article will review how to create tickets and test your Registration flow. In order to create tickets, you will need to assign them a registration category. For instructions on creating registration categories, please review the Creating your Registration Categories article for the prerequisite steps.

PheedLoop offers support for different types of tickets, allowing you to customize purchase options for your event based on factors such as price, description, and information collected.

Some common examples of Tickets we see from our customers include:

  • Day Passes and Full Conference Passes
  • Special Event Passes (i.e., dinner passes)
  • Student tickets
  • Early bird and regularly-priced passes

Step 1 - Create a Ticket

Once you have decided on the kind of tickets you wish to sell, you can create them in the Event Dashboard and assign them to their respective categories.

1.1 - From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Registration > Tickets and select the Create button

1.2 - Toggle on the Activate Ticket checkbox if you wish to make the ticket available for registration

1.3 - Under the Name field, enter the name of your ticket

1.4 - Under the Registration Category field, select the category your ticket belongs to. The same ticket can be added to multiple categories.

1.5 - Under the Price field, enter the cost of your ticket to purchase

  • If you wish to make this ticket free, leave the field as 0

1.6 - Under the Description field, enter an optional description for the ticket

1.7 - Scroll down to Other Details and set the following if applicable:

  • Quantity Available: the total number of Tickets that are available for purchase
  • Minimum Per Order: the minimum number of Tickets that can be purchased within this Ticket Type per Registration Order
  • Limit Per Order: the maximum number of Tickets that can be purchased within this Ticket Type per Registration Order

  • Ticket Sale Start Date/Time and Ticket End Date/Time: the time period that this Ticket will be available for purchase.

1.8 - Scroll down to Options and set the following if applicable:

  • Add On Ticket: This setting is used to prevent registrants from purchasing this Ticket in silo, meaning that registrant must also purchase a non-add on Ticket in order to purchase an add-on Ticket. Common examples of add-on ticket use cases would be workshops, dinners, and/or award ceremonies that are considered “extra” to the main event.

1.9 - Select Save Changes

Step 2 - Test your Tickets

Once you have created your Tickets and assigned them to their respective categories, we recommend testing the tickets from the perspective of a registrant. We strongly recommend conducting a few test registrations on the Event Website to confirm everything is working as intended.

2.1 - From the Event Dashboard, navigate to Event Portals > Event Website > Register Now

2.2 - Select the desired Registration Category

2.3 - Proceed through Registration and pause when you get to the Tickets step of the Registration process. Review the Tickets that are listed based on your Category selection.

  • Quick Tip: If you would like to change the order of your tickets, you can do so by navigating to Registration > Tickets and selecting Actions > Re-Order. Drag the tickets to your desired order and select Save once you are done.

Quick Tips

Registration is the foundation of your event, meaning that future reporting, attendee communications, and ticket management will depend on your Registration set-up. Here are some quick tips that you can implement within your Registration set-up now that will help make future processes easier.

  • We recommend creating categories first so that tickets can be assigned to them. It is much more tedious to have to assign tickets before the categories are created.
  • Multiple ticket types can be created simulatenously for convienence. For instructions, please review our How can I create multiple Registration Ticket Types at once? article.
